To keep your bouquet fresh and in good condition for as long as possible:
- Trimming the stems: Upon arrival, it is important to trim tulip stems by approximately 1.5 cm. The cut should be more delicate, as tulips are more fragile than roses, for example.
- Removing dry parts: If the stem has dried out, a larger portion should be trimmed to restore the plant's ability to absorb water.
- Lukewarm water and nutrient supplement: Tulips should be placed in lukewarm water as soon as possible, with an added nutrient supplement that helps prolong freshness and provides essential nutrients.
- Water level: Unlike other flowers, tulips require less water—approximately 5 to 7 cm. Tulips grow quickly in water, so if they have too much, they may grow excessively and become misshapen. Less water is better for them.
- Water maintenance: Tulips do not require frequent water changes. Simply top up the water as needed. If tulips are left without water for a short period, it is not a problem—just trim the stems and place them back in water.
Things to keep in mind:
Cloudy water in the vase indicates bacterial growth, which can cause decay and speed up flower wilting. This may be due to high temperature or an unsuitable vase, but in any case, it is important to change the water immediately. The water in the vase should be replaced at least every two days. This prevents bacteria from forming and ensures that the flowers always have access to fresh water. With each water change, it is also advisable to trim the stems again, improving the flowers' ability to absorb water. Repeat this process just as you did when you first received the bouquet.
Thank you for taking care of your flowers and enjoying their beauty for longer.
